The name “The Carpenter’s Christian Church” was chosen to show future generations that Jesus was originally a carpenter, and that God still gives his followers practical talents and spiritual gifts to accomplish his ministry today. Click here for more information about Our History.

We are independent in the sense that we do not belong to any governing organization or hierarchy. We are a self-governing body of believers. We choose our own leaders (elders, deacons, ministers, missionaries, etc). We believe that Christ is the head of the church (Colossians 1: 18) and that the New Testament teaches that the church is to be under the leadership of spiritually mature men, selected by the congregation, referred to as elders (Acts 14: 23; Titus 1: 5; Hebrews 13: 17 and others). These elders look to the Bible as their source of authority. We prefer to simply be known as “Christians” rather than any denominational name. We look only to the Bible, not man-made creeds or doctrine, as our rule of faith and practice.

We consider our style of music to be “blended.” We use a mixture of older songs (typically referred to as hymns) and newer, more contemporary worship songs. We utilize instruments including keyboard, guitar, and drums.

The only guidelines we have for attire are those set forth in the scriptures. Church shouldn’t be a time where we are focused on impressing people with our flashy attire (1 Timothy 2: 9 – 10). We should dress modestly (1 Peter 3: 2 – 5). Other than that, a variety of attires is acceptable. You may see a few folks with suit and ties on. But you will find the majority of people wearing more casual attire.

As soon as you walk in the front door of the lobby, there are friendly folks on our Connection Team in green shirts who are waiting there to greet you, answer any questions you may have, and direct you to where you need to go.

Yes, we have a nursery available during both Sunday morning worship services and during the Sunday school hour that is located just off of the main lobby.
